Newton Girls Soccer Skill Development Program for grades 2 and 3

Registration is now open for the NGS Grade 2 & 3 Skills Development Program with Rick Sewall!

In order to provide top professional soccer training within Newton Girls Soccer, we have decided to offer a new program called the NGS Skill Development program (SD).  This program provides training once/week for Grade 2 and 3 players (and U9 travel players).  The goal of the SD program is skill development for players interested in further developing their soccer skills beyond the once/week training schedule with their regular NGS team. It is open only to NGS players that are registered to play on an NGS Grade 2 or 3 team this season or last.

It is widely believed that teaching soccer skills and fundamentals like passing, shooting/lace-kicks, etc. is much easier with younger players.  If your daughter loves soccer, and wants to improve her skills, this program is ideal for her.

Mondays 4:30PM

(We will add more sessions on Thursdays if these fill up as they did in the fall.)

Dates: Weeks of 4/5, 4/12, 4/19, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24, 5/31, 6/7
(note that during school vacation we will only have one session each day)

Registration Fee: $100 (returning players) or $115 (includes shirt)

Registration: Now through 3/31 (or when the program is full -- don't delay as it was full last season)

NGS Skill Development Program (NSDP) Details:

• These session will be coached primarily by Rick Sewall, with assistance from his daughters (both also excellent and experienced coaches).  This is Rick’s 5th season coaching the NGS SD Program.  Rick has received very positive feedback from players each season.
• Sessions will be 1-hour long, with ~40min of skill development and ~20min of scrimmages
• The specific Newton location will be announced by end-March
• We will start on Monday 4/5 and continue through 6/7. 
• This program will be open only to Grade 2 & 3 (and U9) players
• Registration will close when the program is full.
• There are multiple sessions each week to minimize competition with regular team practices (in most cases)
• This is a completely optional program.
• If more than one session is cancelled due to rain, make-up sessions will be scheduled
• The fee for spring 2010 the season is $100, plus $15 for new players to purchase a shirt
• If any session doesn’t have enough players, it will be cancelled and players will be offered the option to switch to another session or receive a refund.
